The big day has nearly arrived! As promised, the ceremony will be at 3pm, so what does this mean for our esteemed guests? Wonder no more, here is a detailed timeline of the goings on.
2:30 -- Guests may arrive at the chapel
2:30-2:55 Organ Prelude. Join us in the chapel sanctuary for a few beautiful selections played on the Flentrop organ. The organ contains 5,033 pipes and rises 40 feet above the chapel floor. The organ was brought to Duke after six years of design and construction in Zaandam, Holland. Both tonally and visually, the Flentrop organ was created to reflect the characteristics of Dutch and French organs of the early 18th century. After installation, the chapel was completed retiled to increase the reverberation time of sound from 3 seconds to 8 seconds, making the experience of the Duke Chapel magestic.
2:55 -- The processional begins. We ask all guests to have taken their seats by this time
3:40 -- We're married! The ceremony has concluded, ushers will guide you out of the chapel following the Bridal party recessional
5:00 -- Hors d'oeuvres are served at the Millennium hotel. Feel free to take in some of the sights on campus before heading to the reception
6:00 -- We're ready for the main course! Time for dinner and a party.
